Set your ZIP priorities

This is the screen that decides where your connections come from. Zillow uses drive time from one home ZIP to pre-rank every ZIP around you; you then tap through them and set each one High, Medium or Low. Get it wrong and you spend the year driving 50 minutes to leads you can't reach in time.

1. Open the Zillow Premier Agent app and tap More — bottom right, the three little dots.

   

2. Scroll to the CONNECTIONS heading and tap ZIP code preferences.

   If instead you seeno CONNECTIONS section at all: Anthony hasn't added you to the team yet. Check your email for the invite, or text him.

   

3. Read the intro screen — it explains that Zillow uses these preferences to decide which connections to send you — then tap Next.

   

4. Confirm your home ZIP. Zillow shows “Is your business centered around [your ZIP]?”, pulled from your Zillow profile. If it's right, tap Yes, use [ZIP] for drive times. If it's wrong — or it's your house and you actually work out of the office — tap No, update to different ZIP and put in the right one.

   You should now seeevery ZIP after this gets ranked by drive time from this one, so it's worth thirty seconds of thought. Most of us want the office ZIP or our own town — not a ZIP we only sleep in.

   

5. A Getting started box explains the screen. Tap Continue.

   You should now see“We've used drive times to prioritize ZIP codes surrounding [your ZIP]. Tap on each ZIP code for more details and to change how you prioritize that ZIP.” Zillow has already made a first pass for you — you're editing its guess, not starting from blank.

   

6. You're now on a map, not a list. Each ZIP around you is shaded, and the Legend bottom-left counts how many you have at each level:
   ⭐ High priority — send me everything here
   ✔ Medium priority — send me some
   ⊖ Low priority — don't send me these
   Pinch to zoom, or use + / − on the right, until you can see every town you'd work.

   

7. Tap a ZIP on the map to open it, read the drive time Zillow shows, and set it High, Medium or Low. Work outward from home. Do every ZIP you'd genuinely take a showing in — and set the ones you wouldn't to Low rather than leaving them.

   You should now seethe Legend counts change as you go. That's your proof the choice saved.

8. Tap Save changes, bottom right, then screenshot the map with the Legend showing.

   If instead you seethe button looks greyed out: you haven't changed anything yet — tap at least one ZIP.

How to pick

Two questions, in this order. Can I be there fast? A Zillow connection is a live buyer on the phone, and the agent who gets there first usually keeps them. Do I know it well enough to sound like a local? Price, schools, which street floods. If either answer is no, that ZIP is Medium at best.

Fewer High-priority ZIPs done well beats a map covered in stars. Zillow doesn't owe you connections because you starred a ZIP — it says so on the screen.

You can change this any time. Has your business moved? Reset ZIP preferences sits along the top of the map if you ever move offices.

One rule worth reading twice

Pick ZIPs on expertise and drive time — never on who lives there. Fair-housing law applies to which areas you choose to serve, Zillow's Good Neighbor Policy says the same, and Zillow audits it. Steering yourself away from a neighbourhood is still steering.
