1.13 — Set up your LinkedIn profile

You’ll need

your headshot, your bio, your licence number(s)

Buyers google you. LinkedIn is usually the second result after Zillow, and it's where relocation and corporate referrals start.

Go to linkedin.com. New to LinkedIn? Tap Join now and sign up with your real-estate Gmail. Already have a profile? Sign in — you're updating, not starting over.

Open your profile → tap the pencil next to your name.
Headline (the line under your name): REALTOR® at RE/MAX One · Helping buyers and sellers in [towns] · Licensed in [CT/MA/RI]. Save.
Photo: tap the camera on your photo → upload your headshot.
Scroll to About → pencil → paste your bio. Add one last line: Licensed in [states] · RE/MAX One · 212 Route 32, Uncasville, CT 06382. Save.
Scroll to Experience → + → Title: REALTOR® · Company: type RE/MAX One · Start date: this month · Location: your town. Save.
You should now seea dropdown of companies, and this is the trap: there are at least six different "RE/MAX ONE" entries, including a RE/MAX One in California. The names are identical — you can only tell them apart by the logo. Picking the wrong one links your profile to a brokerage in another state.
If instead you seeyou are not sure which is ours: stop and open the RE/MAX One page from the office's own LinkedIn link (ask Anthony or Lia for it), follow the page, then come back — the right one will be the company you now follow. Do not guess, and do not type it freehand: a freehand entry shows as plain text with no logo and never links to the office.

Scroll to Licenses & certifications → + → Name: Real Estate Salesperson · Issuing organisation: State of Connecticut (or MA / RI) · Credential ID: your licence number. Save.
If instead you seeyou cannot find the section: it only appears once you have added it. Scroll to the bottom of your profile → Add profile section → Recommended → Add licenses & certifications.

Tap Edit public profile & URL (right side on computer) → set the URL to linkedin.com/in/firstnamelastname. Copy it.

Finish line

You’re done whenyour profile shows your headshot, the RE/MAX One headline, and the licence entry.
