Guide 1.12

Your Facebook business presence — Page or professional mode

5 minutes to decide · 15 more if you build a Page · on your computer
✓ Checked on a live screen · 14 Sep 2026

You’ll need

your headshot, your bio from guide 1.1, your business cell, your real-estate email, and your Blinq card link (guide 1.8)

You need one public place on Facebook where a stranger can find you as a REALTOR® — with your phone number on it. There are two ways to do that, and most agents pick the wrong one because nobody explained the difference. Pick the one you will actually post to. An abandoned business page is worse than no business page.

First — which one

You already turned on professional mode in guide 1.11. That may be all you need. The other option is a separate Page. Read the table, pick a row, then do only that path below.

Professional mode on your own profileA separate business Page
Who sees your postsThe people who already know you, plus anyone who follows you. Reach is usually far better, because Facebook shows profile posts to your network.Only people who find and like the Page. You start at zero and build from nothing.
How much workNone beyond 1.11 and the fields below. You post where you already post.A second feed to fill, forever. This is where most agents quit.
Can someone else post for youNo. It's your login.Yes — you can make Lia or an assistant an admin without giving up your password.
Can the office link youNo.Yes — the office can link your Page to the RE/MAX One page.
If you ever change brokeragesIt comes with you — it's your profile. It comes with you too, but the branding and any office link have to be redone.
AdsYou can boost a post.Cleaner if you ever run real campaigns with a budget.

Most agents should take professional mode. Your first clients come from people who already know you, and those people are on your profile, not on a page they have never heard of.

Take the Page instead if you want an assistant posting for you, you plan to run paid ads with a real budget, or you keep your personal life strictly off-limits and will genuinely maintain a second feed.

Do not do both. Two half-fed feeds beat one well-fed feed for nobody.

One thing to check with the office: if Anthony asks you to link your page to the RE/MAX One page, that needs a Page — professional mode can't be linked. Ask before you decide if you're unsure.

Path A — finish professional mode (most people)

  1. On facebook.com, open your profile → About → Intro → Bio. Check the chip above the box says Public, then write your line and Save.

You should now seea counter under the box reading 0/101. That is a hard cap — 101 characters, not the three-sentence bio from guide 1.1. Yours has to be a single line. Use this shape and keep it under the counter:
    REALTOR® · RE/MAX One · [your towns] · [your one-line promise]
If instead you seethe chip says anything other than Public: click it and change it. A private bio is read by nobody.
the Bio box — note the 101-character counter underneath

  2. Still in Edit, set your cover photo to the branded one Lia sends you, and your profile photo to your headshot from item 1.2.

You should now seethe cover doing the selling — your name, REALTOR®, the states you're licensed in, your phone, and your website. That banner is the most-seen piece of marketing you own.
  3. Go to About → Contact info and add your business cell, your real-estate email, and your website or your Blinq card link.

If instead you seea padlock next to a field: that field is private and no client can see it. Click the pencil and set it to Public, or the whole exercise does nothing.
Contact info with the fields set to Public

  4. Check the small category line under your name. If Facebook offers a real-estate category, use it.

You should now seesomething like Digital creator by default — that's the generic one Facebook assigns. A real-estate category is better if it's on the list.
the category line under your name

  5. Put a call button on your profile. Back to the ··· menu → Add action button → pick Call (or WhatsApp if that's how clients reach you) and give it your business number.

You should now seea button on your profile a stranger can tap to ring you, without going hunting through About. This is the single highest-value item in that menu and almost nobody knows it's there.
  6. Copy your profile link from the address bar: it goes on your Blinq card (guide 1.8).

Path B — build a Page instead

  1. On a computer, open facebook.com/pages — or the grid icon, top right, → Pages. The button at the top of the left rail reads + Create Page. It does not say Create new Page, so do not go hunting for those words.

the Pages screen, with + Create Page at the top of the left rail
the Pages screen, with + Create Page at the top of the left rail
  2. Page name: your name, then , REALTOR® · RE/MAX One — for example Sarah Chen, REALTOR® · RE/MAX One.

  3. Category: start typing Real Estate. Seven near-identical options drop down — Real Estate, Real Estate Agent, Real Estate Company, Real Estate Service, Real Estate Developer, Commercial Real Estate Agency, Apartment & Condo Building. Take Real Estate Agent, the second one. The first is plain Real Estate, which is the obvious thing to click and the wrong one — it describes a sector, not a person.

the category list — Real Estate Agent is second, under the one most people click
the category list — Real Estate Agent is second, under the one most people click
  4. Bio: your three sentences from guide 1.1.

  5. Contact: your real-estate email, your business cell, the office address 212 Route 32, Uncasville, CT 06382, and your Blinq card link as the website.

  6. Profile picture: your headshot. Cover photo: the RE/MAX One cover from Lia.

  7. Add Lia as an admin if you want her able to post for you — that's the main reason to have chosen this path.

  8. Post your “I've joined” announcement from guide 1.1 as the Page's first post, then share it to your personal profile so the people who already know you see it exists.

Finish line

You’re done whenone public Facebook presence with your headshot, your REALTOR® line, RE/MAX One, and a public phone number a stranger can actually call.

Now do thisOn your training page, tap I’ve done this. If you built a Page (Path B), text Lia the link: she can only link a Page to the office’s.

Stuck right now? Text Anthony (AI questions: Robbie) — that is the fast path when something is blocking you. The form below is the other thing: it is for telling us this PAGE is wrong, so it gets fixed once, for everyone.
Something wrong on this page?

This goes straight to Robbie with the guide name already attached, so you do not have to explain which page you were on. Stuck right now and need an answer? Text Anthony — that is faster than this.
